Introduction to Green Wellie

Since opening in 1994, we have established a reputation for providing excellent care and education.  We still provide these exceptionally high standards, and our families and their siblings keep coming back to join us.  Our advertising is minimal and word of mouth keeps us busy.

We achieve a happy atmosphere for our children to thrive in.  Children are accepted from birth to five years, during which time we endeavour to provide a well balanced curriculum with varying periods of free play, outdoor play, swimming and structured educational activities.  Set in large grounds with a specially adapted nursery building, our nursery is extremely well equipped to provide children with a safe and stimulating environment, and our teaching principal emphasises the need to combine care, play and education to help children develop to their full potential.

The children are cared for by a team of experienced and qualified staff, all employees have been scrutinised by us and Ofsted, including health and police checks (CRB) for their suitability for working with young children.  Our staff turnover is very low, most have been with us for many years.

The nursery is registered with Ofsted and undergoes inspections to renew that registration.  We are open Monday to Friday throughout the year with the exception of a few days between Christmas and New Year and Bank Holidays.  Our opening hours are 8.00am - 6.00pm, earlier opening hours can be negotiable.  Children can attend either full time or part time morning or afternoon sessions.

As from September 2010 we will be delivering free Government funded hours for all 3 and 4 year olds.
