The Baby Unit

The Green Wellie is registered for 15 babies from 0-2 years. The nursery has an area that is well equipped yet provides a homely environment with play, eating and sleeping areas. The emphasis is very much on settling, comforting and entertaining the children with a variety of gentle, stimulating activities.

As with older children the babies can attend full or part time sessions and we endeavour to care for our babies in a way which compliments their individual home routine.

During the nursery day there are many times at which we meet as a whole family unit and the babies are fully integrated with the older children, thus beginning their social education in a pleasant way.

The baby unit is staffed with up to five fully qualified staff, and individual records are kept of each child's development as well as each child's daily diary.

As they grow opportunities are provided for water play, sound play, books, shapes and sorting, painting and sand etc. help and encouragement is given with crawling, walking skills and development of vocabulary.
