Starting Nursery
(Children aged 2-3 years)

For many children, starting nursery is their first real experience of spending time away from parents, carers and their home environment. At The Green Wellie we gently encourage your child's independence and social skills, helping all children to settle quickly and thoroughly enjoy the company and stimulation offered in the nursery.

We follow the EYFS Early Years Foundation Stage, Principles into Practice, the four themes being: A Unique Child, Positive Relationships, Enabling Environments, Learning and Development.

Our daily activities and free play cover all aspects of learning, role play, music, singing, stories, sorting, matching, language development, puzzles, free painting, and lots of arts and crafts to help develop imagination and co-ordination.

We firmly believe that any 'work' should always be fun, enabling children to obtain immense pleasure from their achievements and together with lots of praise and encouragement we provide a happy and stimulating environment in which they can learn.

For children attending a full day, we provide quiet rest periods / sleep if required. A daily diary shows parents and carers what they have achieved in their session.
